About Event
Abhyuday is the Social Body of IIT-Bombay with vision to provide platform to youth for discovering social issues and address them to find solution. We are having our annual social festival on 21-22 January 2017.
This year, the theme of our Social festival is ‘I am not disabled, I am differently abled’.
Previous editions of the festival saw a participation of 5000 students from more than 150+ colleges and 50+ NGOs around the country. Numerous personalities including Aamir Khan, Padmabhushan D.R.Mehta, Joe Madiath, Anshu Gupta, Shailesh Gandhi, Sonam Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and the entire Satyamev Jayate team graced the festival with their presence.

“UNSUNG HEROES” event focusing personalities who are not recognised by society
1. Dr.Subodh Kumar Singh, a doctor who has provided more than 17000 free plastic surgery services to the weaker sections of society.
2.Mr. Praveen Tyagi, also known as “Young Age Dronacharya”, he is the owner of IITians PACE Pvt. Ltd. Every year Mr. Praveen Tyagi provides IIT-JEE coaching free of cost to 50 girls from rural areas of Maharashtra.
3.Prof. Sandeep Desai, A professor who goes around begging on the crowded local trains to raise funds for running English medium schools for underprivileged children in rural Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
"Cultural events" where ‘Differently abled’ children from NGO’s like will showcase their talent and prove that they are not disabled but rather differently abled

1.VI Simulation workshop: This workshop is aimed at creating a sneak preview for the sighted people into the world of the visually challenged. The attendees will get to know the ways by which performing daily activities is made possible for visually challenged.
2.Accessibility Training: The concept focuses on enabling access for people with disabilities, or special needs, or enabling access through the use of assistive technology

Nearest Railway Station: Kanjurmarg
Kanjur Karg is the nearest railway station from IIT Bombay. It is on the central line.
Bus: From Kanjurmarg bus number 307, 396, 398, 409, 422, 424, 425, 428, 458, 460, 469, 496, 602 are available at good frequencies. Get down at IIT Main Gate bus stop of IIT Market gate bus stop.
Auto/taxi: A regular auto will cost around Rs 50 to Rs 60 from Kanjurmarg railway station.
Road: The distance is about 4.4 km via JVLR.
